Features

Step-by-Step Voice Guidance

The HS1 provides detailed voice messages that guide the responder through use of the defibrillator. Instructions can be repeated and rephrased when needed, with additional guidance to aid understanding.

Integrated SMART Pads

The integrated SMART Pads provide feedback to the AED, allowing it to adapt voice instructions according to the responder’s actions and pace. The pads sense when they are removed from the cartridge, peeled from their liners, and applied to the patient.

Adult and Pediatric Use

The HS1 can be used for:

• Adults and children over 25 kg (55 lb) or greater than 8 years old
• Infants and children under 25 kg (55 lb) or 0–8 years old, when the optional Infant/Child SMART Pads Cartridge is installed.

When the Infant/Child SMART Pads Cartridge is installed, the HS1 automatically adjusts its CPR instructions and shock energy.

SMART Analysis

The device uses SMART Analysis, a Philips technology that evaluates multiple characteristics of the patient’s heart rhythm to determine whether the rhythm is shockable.

SMART Biphasic Therapy

SMART Biphasic Impedance Compensation helps the HS1 deliver an appropriate amount of current and energy according to the patient’s impedance.

Quick Shock

The patented Quick Shock feature allows the HS1 to deliver a shock after the end of a CPR interval, typically within 8 seconds.

Automatic Self-Testing

The HS1 conducts automatic self-tests to check device readiness and functionality. Daily self-tests evaluate the internal circuitry, waveform delivery system, pads cartridge, and battery capacity.

Event Data Recording

The HS1 can store the first 15 minutes of ECG along with the entire incident’s events and analysis decisions. Event data can be transmitted wirelessly to a smartphone or PC using the IrDA protocol.
